I have heard bad things about the SC School district so we are even considering a move from here. Lets see what comes of this.NChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01455350360583603283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3420419511488075050.post-31854020707874053752010-05-23T23:14:38.401-07:002010-05-23T23:14:38.401-07:00Hi NC. The ...Hi NC. Where are you located? Are you in CA?

The IEP is only for public schools. Parents Helping Parents (http://php.com/) is a great resource and offers IEP training for parents new to the process. There are also a number of websites that list sample IEP goals ("goal banks").

I'm not sure about having private vendors in a public school. I think it is possible, but if it is necessary you should be able to have the school pay for it. That said, if the school is paying, they will use their own people or go through their vendors.

We've been processing all weekend and have decided to try to make a few changes to the plan. We're also looking at private options just in case. Stay tuned for more on that.Wantapeanuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11993949583915924482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3420419511488075050.post-64113062516708193572010-05-23T23:04:39.831-07:002010-05-23T23:04:39.831-07:00Hi,

I still dont understand the process of IEP very well. Its very confusing on how it works. Who gives what services. Can a family have private vedors supporting the kid in school? Do you know of places I can find this information/learn more about IEP?NChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01455350360583603283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3420419511488075050.post-1183809281950301172010-05-23T21:01:03.432-07:002010-05-23T21:01:03.432-07:00Good luck Nichole. I'm not sure why, as I know that we're in great hands. Our daughter has a minor speech delay that she's made tremendous progress on, which I am sure is a direct result of early intervention.

I am so happy to have found your blog, as it always helps to know that I'm not alone. (I found your blog on my twitter search for Bloggy Boot Camp San Francisco.)

NicholeNicholehttp://inthesesmallmoments.comnoreply@blogger.com
